WINDSOR—The Southampton-Sussex Nationals Pony 13- and 14-year-old All-Star team came from behind in the last inning to defeat Smithfield 5-4 and win the district title on Thursday night in Windsor.

The team will advance to sectionals, beginning play at 6 p.m. Monday, July 18, in Kempsville. The opponent has not yet been named.

Southampton-Sussex scored two runs in the first inning, with both RBIs coming from Sean Raulston.

Going into the bottom of the final inning, Smithfield led 4-3. The first Southampton-Sussex batter struck out. Hunter Peck reached base on an error and Paul Parker hit a double. Raulston hit a single to bring home Peck and Parker for the win.

Peck and Tae Tae Holloman shared pitching duties for the winners.

Southampton-Sussex defeated Smithfield 14-13 and Windsor 11-1 to make it to the title game.
