ISLE OF WIGHT—Interim Isle of Wight County Attorney A. Paul Burton is retiring for a second time after nearly five years with the county.

Burton retired as city attorney for Hampton in 2006 after serving for 32 years. He also served five years as assisted city attorney for Hampton and spent two years in private practice.

No decision has been made on a replacement, said Don Robertson, county spokesman. Mark Popovich, assistant county attorney, will run the office in the interim.

The Board of Supervisors will most likely discuss options at its Thursday, Aug. 4, meeting.
