The times, they are a’ changin’

It’s been said there has been more fundamental change the last 40 years than the previous 4,000.
Consider these statements no one could have fathomed just a while ago:
“Has anyone seen the remote?”
“I’ll text you.”
“Remove your shoes, please” (airport security).
“This computer is too darn slow!”
“Please silence your cell phones during the performance.”
“Download this song for free.”
“Did you record your favorite show last night?”
“Take that plastic squirt gun out of your backpack. You could get expelled for that.”
“Google it.”
“Beep.” (The sound of a jar of mayonnaise as it passes over the grocery store counter)
“Are you on Facebook?”
“Perhaps we should look at a knee replacement.”
“I really like your lip ring.”
“Prepare to turn left. Turn left.”
“That will be 15 yards for ‘roughing the passer.’”
“Can you stop by the ATM machine on your way home?”
“Will these Marlboro Lights be all? That will be $5.13.”
“Just set your cruise control.”
“Did you see it in 3-D?”
So, readers — what will we be hearing 40 years from now?
