COURTLAND—A Franklin man accused of having sex with a girl under age 13 pleaded not guilty during his arraignment in Southampton County Circuit Court on Thursday.

Steve Bradshaw is charged with two counts of rape, which allegedly occurred between September 2008 and June 2009 in Franklin and Southampton County, according to court records. Bradshaw was arrested on Sept. 1.

His jury trial is scheduled for Oct. 26.

Bradshaw remains free on bond.
