DREWRYVILLE—The marriage ceremony of Ashley Gail Griffith and Brian Page Rainey took place May 17 at Drewryville United Methodist Church.

The double-ring ceremony was officiated by Reverend James Smith, pastor of the church.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen A. Griffith of Drewryville.

She is the maternal granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clinton F. Blythe and the paternal granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles L. Griffith.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald P. Rainey of Gloucester.

He is the maternal grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lee Roy Dixon and the paternal grandson the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rainey.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

The matron of honor was Stephanie Thompson of Disputanta, and the maid of honor was Debbie Griffith of Wakefield, both sisters of the bride.

Bridesmaids were Allison Rainey of Richmond, cousin of the groom, Tiffany Fancher of Franklin, friend of the bride, and Leilani Eckroth of Courtland, friend of the couple.

The flower girls were Chloe Worrell of Newsoms, cousin of the bride, and Esther Rainey of Lynchburg, niece of the groom. The honorary flower girl was Olivia Thompson of Disputanta, niece of the bride.

Donald Rainey of Gloucester was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were David Rainey of Lynchburg, brother of the groom, Kevin Rainey of Gloucester, brother of the groom, Dickie Thompson of Disputanta, brother-in-law to the bride, and Danny Heath of Surry, friend of the couple.

The ring bearer was Aidan Rainey of Lynchburg, nephew of the groom, and the honorary ring bearer was Seth Eckroth of Courtland, friend of the couple.

Music was provided by Carolyn Johnson Beale of Courtland.

The mistress of ceremony was Tammy Blythe of Franklin, aunt of the bride.

Attending the guest book was Kara Kane of Mechanicsville, cousin of the bride. Program greeters were Keri and Kora Kane of

Mechanicsville, also both cousins of the bride.

A reception was held at the Sebrell Community Center with music provided by Coast-to-Coast Entertainment/DJ James Thomas Cooke Jr.

After a honeymoon in Myrtle Beach,S.C., the couple will reside in Southampton County.

A Christmas shower was held in the bride’s home and was given by Stephanie Thompson and Debbie Griffith.

Jennifer Worrell, Tammy Blythe, and Frances Finley hosted a Lawn and Garden Shower at Jennifer Worrell’s home.

The Drewryville United Methodist Women held a miscellaneous shower at Drewryville Methodist Church.

A &uot;Girl’s Night Out&uot; to Norfolk was given by Leilani Eckroth and Tiffany Fancher.

A bridal luncheon at the Petersburg Country Club was given by Judy and Allison Rainey.

A rehearsal dinner was given by the groom’s family at Indiantown Hunt Club in Capron.

The bride and groom chose to present gifts to the bridal party at this time.
