ALTAVISTA—Hubert Franklin Dozier, 65,

of the 100 block of Otter River Drive, died June 19, 2008, in Philadelphia.

He was the beloved husband of Barbara Townsend Dozier.

Mr. Dozier was born Feb. 27, 1943, in Norfolk, a son of the late George Dozier and Katherine Byrd Dozier.

He served his country in the U.S. Army and retired as a ship fitter from the Naval shipyard in Norfolk.

In addition to his wife, Beth, he is survived by two sons, Jerry Dozier and Donald Dozier, all of Virginia Beach; two grandchildren, Madison and Ethan Dozier; two brothers and their wives, Tommy and Cheryl Dozier of Portsmouth and Kenny and Dora Dozier of Chesapeake; two sisters and their husbands, Sharen and Steve Thomas of Virginia Beach and Cathy and Joseph Owens of Windsor; and many loved aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that family and friends consider donating to the charity of their choice in remembrance of him.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
