COURTLAND—A Southampton County man wanted for allegedly selling cocaine was arrested after a vehicle and foot chase at 8:30 p.m. Monday, in Courtland.
When the Southampton County Sheriff’s Office arrested Timmie Denson, 24, of the 29000 block of Delaware Road he allegedly had cocaine valued at $700, a .45 caliber handgun, scales and $700.
Sgt. R. Stevens, who spotted Denson’s vehicle in Courtland, knew he was wanted on three indictments for allegedly selling cocaine and another for allegedly selling drugs in a school zone.
Stevens recognized Denson as the driver of the vehicle and attempted to stop him.
A short chased followed on the back streets of Courtland, police said. Denson drove through some yards and ended up in a field near a wooded area of Courtland. He ran from the vehicle and surrendered without incident, police said.
Denson was charged with felony eluding, possession of a firearm with dangerous drugs and possession with the intent to distribute.
As for the month-old indictments, they are from incidents that occurred in Franklin and Southampton County. They are related to his alleged possession of seven grams of crack and two grams of powder.
Denson is being held in Southampton County Jail.
