The Franklin city pool will open to the public Monday afternoon, two weeks after its scheduled opening was delayed because of a lack of lifeguards.
Those who visit the pool Monday can swim without paying an entrance fee.
&uot; We’re calling it ‘Welcome Back Day’ to the pool,&uot; said Frank Davis, director of Franklin Parks & Recreation. Davis said the effort is to reward swimmers who &uot;suffered through the heat&uot; of the last two weeks without a pool to use.
Pool hours will be 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Only recreational swimming will be offered in the coming weeks. Swim lessons might resume in July, Davis said, once staffing issues are resolved.
