MURFREESBORO, N.C.nChowan University’s Office of Public Safety has announced a &uot;Mock Drill&uot; for Friday on campus.

The university will work in conjunction with local law enforcement and emergency services for the training. The drill will test the university and local agencies on their ability to communicate and respond to a possible campus crisis situation.

&uot;Colleges and universities throughout the nation have learned a great deal about crisis situations on campus since the Virginia Tech shooting. Chowan is taking proactive steps to make sure that we are prepared for any future situations,&uot; said university Chief of Public Safety Derrick Burke. &uot;We want the public to know that Thursday’s training is a mock drill and not to be alarmed.&uot;
