BRANCHVILLE-Citizens and officials turned out Saturday to celebrate Branchville’s 100th anniversary.
Tolerating a hot, muggy day, many citizens gathered at the Community Building – the former Branchville Baptist Church – for food, a historical slideshow, a crafts show and a time to gather, as well as air-conditioning.
Hank Snow brought his 1911 Ford Model-T from nearby Boykins for display. The car is only three years newer than the Town of Branchville.
The RS Cloggers performed two shows, and a disc jockey provided music throughout the day.
Streets near the post office, the community center and the firehouse were closed to traffic and opened only to pedestrians.
