COURTLAND—A second murder trial for a Drewryville woman will open Wednesday, Aug. 17, with jury selection in Southampton County Circuit Court.
The trial for Tiona Tucker, 29, is expected to last three days.
Tucker is charged with the Feb. 14, 2007, shooting death of 21-year-old Tirail Jackson at a trailer in the Adams Grove area of Drewryville.
Tucker’s first trial resulted in a mistrial on Feb. 16 when the jury was unable to reach a verdict after more than four hours of deliberation. The jury questioned the credibility of two key witnesses.
Brian Scott, 25, is also charged with first-degree murder and faces a jury trial on Nov. 1.
