Customers should take responsibility for bag choices

To the Editor:

I am grateful that Farm Fresh is committed to staying in Franklin, but like many businesses, they must find ways of economizing.

Unfortunately, changing to plastic is one cost-cutting measure. The customer has the power and responsibility to eliminate this option.

Bringing a cloth or recycled paper bags is an easy habit to acquire. Keep bags by the back door or in the car, and before going to the store, think, do I have my bags?

Farm Fresh very generously even pays customers to use their own bags as an added incentive to do our part for the environment. And when you see a plastic bag blowing around or caught in a bush, reach out, grab it and recycle it. It’s good for you; it’s good for Franklin.
