Courtland – Elsie Evans Mulder Overby, 92, a former resident of Lynches Corner, NC, passed away August 17, 2011at Southampton Memorial Hospital. She was born in Pasquotank County, NC, a daughter of the late Marlin Evans and Golden Gurganus, and was predeceased by two husbands, George Henry Mulder and Russell Overby, and a daughter, Joannie M. Babb.

Left to cherish her memory are four daughters Gracie M. Malcolm (Irving) of Sedley, Jo Anne M. Turner (Steve) of Elizabeth City, NC, Deloris M. Harrell (Terry) of Franklin, Gloria M. Edwards of Franklin; four sons, Robert O. Mulder (Shirley) of Roanoke, Marlin J. “Huss” Mulder (Millie) of Sutherland, G. Herman Mulder of Winton, NC, John W. Mulder (Betty) of Courtland; fifteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 pm Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Westlawn Memorial Park, Elizabeth City, NC, with the Rev. Larry Cribb officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 pm today (Friday) at Wright Funeral Home in Franklin. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
