David A. Hubbard

YORKTOWN—David A. Hubbard, died May 9, 2008.
He was born July 20, 1920, and raised in Isle of Wight County, graduated from Smithfield High in 1939 and the Newport News Shipbuilding Apprentice School in 1944.
Mr. Hubbard joined the Marine Corps during WWII, served in Okinawa and occupied Japan, studied engineering at GW University. He was a member of Chestnut Memorial Methodist Church (Newport News), Springfield United Methodist Church and the Scottish Rite Masonic Lodge #217, in Springfield.
Survivors include his wife, Jeannette Carol Hubbard; his children, David A. Hubbard Jr., Carol E. Hubbard Stabnow, Deborah A. Hubbard Smith, Peter A. Hubbard, Lynn L. Hubbard Beasman, and James C. Hubbard; grandchildren, Susan M. Longest, Gary W. Longest Jr., Jennifer A. Hubbard, Christopher A. Hubbard, Anna M. Smith, Mark D. Beasman Jr., Eric W. Beasman, Marie J. Hubbard and Leia E. Hubbard.
He was preceded in death by Lawrence and Joel Hubbard, and Nora Hubbard Griffin.
A funeral was held Tuesday, at the National Memorial Park Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA., with internment in National Memorial Park Cemetery.
