Lucille H. Cofer

SMITHFIELD—Lucille Hollowell Cofer, died April 21, 2008, at Sentara Obici Hospital.
Mrs. Cofer was the wife of the late Charles “Pete” Cofer. Mrs. Cofer was a member of Smithfield Baptist Church and of the B.L. Wells Sunday School Class.
She was a deputy clerk of Isle of Wight County from 1953 to 1970 and also served as justice of the peace.
She retired from Smithfield Packing Company in 1983 after 13 years of service.
She was preceded in death by sister, Elsie H. Whitford and brothers, J. Raymond Hollowell and Charles Linwood Hollowell.
Survivors include her daughter, Mona J. Cofer of Commerce, Ga.; grandchildren, Lori W. Hurd, Nicole W. Williams and Guy C. Wyatt; five great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Margaret H. Hollowell of Aurora, Colo.
A life celebration service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Donald Rhoton officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Luke’s Memorial Park.
