NEWPORT NEWS—Barbara Ann Green’s journey through life began in Suffolk on July 9, 1942.

Mrs. Green was a member of the Women of the Moose, Warwick Chapter, where she enjoyed dancing and listening to the music of her favorite band, ‘The Memphis Edition.’

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Edna Buie; brother, Thomas Buie, and infant brother, Harold Buie.

Survivors include her devoted husband and companion of 35 years, Harold ‘Pete’ Green; two daughters, Gloria McCallum and husband Paul of Hampton, and Jannette Locascio and husband Sean of Smithfield; four sons, Walter G. Phillips and wife Sheri of Hampton, Kevin Green and Kenny Green, both of Belhaven, N.C., and Steven Green of Manteo, N.C.; nine grandchildren, Emily McCallum of Washington, D.C., Paul McCallum II, Justin Phillips, Jessica Phillips, Donnie Phillips and Bridgette Green, all of Hampton, and Taylor, Brooke and Lil Man Josh Locascio, all of Smithfield; one great-grandchild, Elizabeth of Hampton; three brothers, James Frankie Buie of Elizabeth City, N.C., Bobby Buie and wife Mary of Smithfield and Gerald Lacy Buie of Stratford, Iowa; and a sister, Carol Farmer and husband Kenny of Hampton.

The family would like to thank Dr. Lawrence Hyman and his staff at Hampton and Dr. Luketic and his staff at MCV Hospital for their devotion to her healthcare for the past 27 years.

They would also like to thank Riverside Hospice program nurses, Julia, Sharon, Joyce and Mary Ann for their help.

A very special thank you goes to her sister-in-law, Sherilyn Sadler and husband Danny, who the family loves more than words can express.

A funeral service was conducted

Thursday at the funeral home with burial to follow in Peninsula Memorial Park.

Peninsula Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
