To the Editor:

Being animal lovers, we took a trip to the new Isle of Wight shelter, the building at 13100 Poor House Road near the new Isle of Wight Courthouse.

It is clean, neat and attended by caring people. It is in need of donations, food for both cats and dogs, laundry soaps and especially money for the vets. As one said, “It costs us $50 each time we walk in the door.” (They get no discount at the vet.)

We found the cages large with a different room for cats and kittens and friendly people willing to show us the area, so let’s remember to help these animals that can’t help themselves. Drop by the shelter or drop off donations at the above address.
