Norma L. Jessee

COURTLAND—Norma Lee Jessee, 72, died April 4, 2008, at Princeton Community Hospital in West Virginia.

Born in Arista, W.Va. on Aug. 14, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Combs Sr. and Deloise Godfrey Combs.

Mrs. Jessee retired from the Raleigh County Community Action in Beckley as the executive director, after her retirement she worked in teleservices for West at Home LLC.

She was a member of

the Lashmeet Bible Baptist in West Virginia and Courtland Baptist Church in Courtland.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Troy L. Jessee; two infant sisters, Rita Faye Combs and Betty Jean Combs; one brother, Calvin Combs; and one niece, Tina Combs.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Garrett and husband Thomas of Princeton, Sandra Vestal and husband Tim of Lashmeet; one son, Randy Jessee and wife Paula of Courtland; grandchildren, Christopher Thornton and wife Erin of Charlotte, N.C., Sgt. George “Lee” Thornton and wife Mandy of Watertown, N.Y., Rustin Ray Jessee and Randa LeeAnn Jessee, both of Courtland.

Funeral services were held April 7 from Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton.

Burial followed in Grandview Memory Gardens on Bluefield-Tazewell Road, Bluefield.
