What’s the best part of your day? My alarm goes off at 4 a.m. My best work is done before the sun rises.
If you had two weeks’ vacation and money were no object, how would you spend your time? I wouldn’t change a thing. Really, every day is a vacation for me.

What’s the best decision you’ve made in life? To meet the master and serve him
Which local charitable or non-profit organization do you wish more people would support? Church tithers are happy campers.
Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know. I never missed a day from school — first through 12th grade. I was head cheerleader at East Carolina.
What’s your hobby? I call the UMW Newsoms calendar my summer hobby.
What’s the most Southern thing you’ve ever done? I love baking rolls, in fact some are baking while I’m working on this. It gives me that special feeling that I’m doing exactly what God wants me to do. And I love giving them away. I love to cook for my family every Sunday. I love seeing my family at church, it is 20 of us. I wish everybody loved going to church.
What’s your best childhood memory? Two weeks every summer when two of my sisters and two of my brothers came home from the orphanage in Raleigh, N.C.
Tell us one true thing. I love UMC Women and I love Blackstone.
If you could live anywhere else in the world, where would it be and why? I don’t see any point in moving around; I just love living right in Newsoms. I’m close to two churches and I always have the best neighbors because I’m next door to the Baptist parsonage.
If you could invite three guests — living or dead, from anytime in history — to dinner, who would they be? My daddy, mother and sister.
What kind of music do you like, and who’s your favorite performer? I love gospel music and I love it sung by Elvis Presley. You probably know my favorite performer is Elvis.
What’s the last book you read? The Holy Bible inspired by God and Living Prayer by Robert Benson.
To whom are you grateful and why? I am grateful to the people that love Christ and serve him.
