Sara Simms Harsh, a native to Southampton County, has found success in Nashville.

Harsh moved to Tennessee in fall of 2002 to pursue a career in the entertainment after she finished college.

“I moved to Nashville only knowing a few people, all of whom were in the entertainment industry, so those few friends were instrumental in helping me get connected,” Harsh said.

She has worked with several artists.

“My husband Jake is a commercial/celebrity photographer, and we recently went on tour with MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew champs “Quest Crew,” Harsh said. “We also recently had the opportunity to work with Samsung, The Black Eyed Peas, Jason Mraz, Katy Perry and others as a part of Bumbershoot in Seattle.”

Harsh also appeared in a music video with Joe Nichols.

She has been performing since age 15, often as an opening act for other artists.

Harsh co-owns a business with her husband, sings, and does freelance television hosting.
