Franklin firefighters work to put out a fire Monday afternoon at the home of Dan and Sue Cook on Meadow Lane in Franklin.
According to Deputy Fire Chief Mark Carr, investigators believe the fire was started by a contractor removing paint from windows with a heat gun. Carr estimated that the fire caused $150,000 in structural damage, adding that there was water and smoke damage throughout the home.
No one was injured. Firefighters from Franklin, Hunterdale, Courtland and Carrsville responded to the blaze.
Dan Cook is executive vice president of Manry Rawls Insurance. The family plans to temporarily relocate to another home on Meadow Lane while the damaged structure is repaired.
