FARMVILLE—Southampton High School juniors Jordan Francis and Billy Britton shot a 76 and 77, respectively, to finish first and second overall during a Thursday Southside District tournament at the Longwood University Golf Course.

Parkview won with 322 followed by Southampton with 335, Prince Edward 421 and Greensville 430.

Playing 18 holes on the par 68 course, Southampton junior Lewis Mayes placed third for the Indians and seventh overall with an 88 and freshman Brandon Munford placed fourth for the Indians and 10th overall with a 94.

Southampton has finished in second twice this season, with Park View in first both times. Southampton defeated Park View in the season opener.

The Indians are scheduled to play 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, at South Hill Country Club.
