FRANKLIN—Alice K. Hughson, 84, widow of Francis Albert “Tex” Hughson, died Jan. 2, 2008, at the Newport News Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mrs. Hughson was born in New York and was a member of St. Jude’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Pat H. Fisher and husband Bob of Ashville, N.C., Judy H. Mize of Medford, N.J., Alice H. Collins and husband Ed of Medford Lakes, N.J.; one son, Francis A. Hughson and wife DeAnn of Williamsburg; one daughter -in-law, Julie Hughson of Waldorf, Md; one sister, Betty S. Owens of Mesa, Ariz; 18 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, James F. Hughson.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. today at St. Jude’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Carl Desouza officiating.

Burial will follow in Southampton Memorial Park.
