Adult, youth leagues battle on baseball fields

FRANKLIN—Mudduck Express defeated David’s Market 14-10 in the Franklin Parks and Recreation Adult Co-Ed Softball League on June 1.

In other games, Overtime Sports Bar squeaked by FCC 12-11, and Grey Fox romped 29-7 over State Farm.

Two nights later, Overtime Sports Bar defeated David’s Market 18-11. Other winners were Mudduck Express, 15-10 over State Farm, and FCC, 17-8 over Grey Fox.

In Youth Coach Pitch on June 3, The Hustlers edged Wolfpack 6-4 to take over sole possession of first place.The Wolfpack held a 2-1 lead going into the third inning, but the Hustlers scored two runs to take 3-2 lead.

In the top of the fourth inning, the Wolfpack added two runs to take a 4-3, but in the bottom of the inning the Hustlers scored three runs and held on to get the win.

In Junior League Baseball, Lambda Nu used walks and timely hits to defeat Parker Oil 12-2 on Friday at the Armory Stadium Complex.

After a scoreless first inning, Jawan Walton’s three-run homerun in the second inning helped give Lambda Nu a 5-1 lead going into the third inning. Parker Oil’s run came on Maklye Jones’s triple in the bottom of the inning.

Lambda Nu’s Keith Suiter’s three-run triple in the bottom of the third put the game out of reach for Parker Oil. Rayquan Parker was the winning pitcher for Lambda Nu, and Lynn Lawson took the loss for Parker Oil.
