WAKEFIELD—Barbara Anne Britt, 58, died Dec. 20, 2007, at Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.

Born Sept. 15, 1949, in Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late Henry O. Goodrich and Alice Emory Goodrich.

Mrs. Britt was a homemaker and devoted and faithful member of the Burton’s Grove Christian Church and the Ladies’ Aide Society.

Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl Britt of Wakefield, and Cheryl’s father, John Britt; two sisters, Jeannette G. Newbold and husband Hilton, and Linda G. Joyce and husband James, all of Waverly; a brother, Charles H. Goodrich of Panama City, Fla.; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews,

great nieces, great nephews; and a special family friend, Gracie Goodrich.

The family would like to send special thanks to the staffs of

MCV and Sentara Obici Hospitals.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Purviance Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, Wakefield, with the Rev. Dan Wickert officiating.

Interment will follow in Burton’s Grove Christian Church Cemetery, Wakefield.

The family was to receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the funeral home to offset expenses.
