WINDSOR—Windsor High School lost 3-1 to Mathews during a Tuesday volleyball match.
The host Lady Dukes won the first game 25-20, but then lost the rest 25-22, 25-12 and 25-15.
Senior setter Morgan Darden suffered a bad sprain to her thumb in the second game.
“It just went bad from there,” said Windsor Coach Jeff Burchette, adding the Lady Dukes were winning 22-17 before Darden was hurt.
She is not expected to return to action until Monday, Sept. 12, for the game against Southampton High School.
Leading the Lady Dukes on Tuesday were freshman Kellie Mathews with five kills, senior Chelsea Nordlund with five blocks, sophomore Allison Griggs with six digs and senior Lauren Arrington with 11 assists.
“I thought the team, as a whole, played well the first two games,” Burchette said.
Windsor will host Northampton on Thursday, Sept. 8, with the junior varsity game starting at 5:30 p.m. followed by varsity.
