Shirley A. Lowdermilk

FRANKLIN— Shirley Ann Zembower Lowdermilk, 72, widow of Richard Francis Lowdermillk, and formerly of Capron, died Dec. 6, 2007.

A native of Cumberland, Md., she was a daughter of the late Cortes Calvin and Thelma Kasecamp Zembower.

Mrs. Lowdermilk was a former violinist with the Cumberland Symphony, a former competitive skater and was accomplished in crocheting and knitting. She was a nurse and a member of Zion Methodist Church in Cumberland, Md.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Penny Kay Barry and husband, Tris, of Purcellville; her son, Richard Dean Lowdermilk and wife, Gayle, of Courtland; one brother, James Cortes Zembower and wife, Josephine, of Cumberland, Md.; three grandchildren, Daniel Lowdermilk, T. J. & Jamie Barry; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved MeMe.

A memorial service and burial will be held at a later date in Cumberland, Md.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 pm Sunday at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, and suggest memorials be made to Capron Fire & Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 128, Capron, Va., 23829, or American Cancer Society, c/o Kathy Worrell, 717 Fairview Drive, Franklin, Va. 23851.
