Queen E. Harris

NORFOLK—Queen E. Harris, 70, of the 700 block of W. 31st St., died Nov. 28, 2007, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

She was born Jan. 20, 1937, to the late Herbert L. and Annie D. Harris in Southampton County.

She was a faithful member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Survivors include her three loving children, Michael A. Harris of Goldsboro, N.C., Joyce A. Harris-Mitchell and Alfreda Harris, both of Norfolk; eight sisters, Ruby H. Smith (James) and Daphne H. Dews (James), both of Virginia Beach, Rebie H. Bryant (Charles) of Gainesville, Fla., Minnie Harris and Ernell H. Taylor (Samuel), both of Mount Vernon, N.Y., Eileen H. Duncan of Roxbury, Mass., Yvonne Harris of Mableton, Ga., and Ruth H. Combo (Dwight) of Suffolk; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral was held Monday in Metropolitan Funeral Service, 7246 Granby St. Interment was in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake.

Metropolitan Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
