SEDLEY—Ina Lord Burgess, 83, widow of James Wilton “Bill” Burgess, died Nov. 10, 2007, at her son’s residence.
Mrs. Burgess was assistant to the Southampton Memorial Hospital administrator, Gerald W. DeHaven, and retired after 27 years service.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star where she was a former Worthy Matron and the Franklin Business and Professional Women. After retirement, she was owner and operator of Franklin Typing and Copy Service and secretary for the Hunterdale United Church of Christ for several years.
She was a member of Grace Memorial United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son, Thomas W. Burgess and wife Alice of Franklin; one son-in-law, Chris Collins of Sedley; two sisters, Alta and Lena, both of Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Greg Lassiter, Clete Lassiter, Ken Burgess, Jim Burgess and wife, Helen, Mariah C. Cobb, Michael Collins; and eight great-grandchildren, Dylan, Tomlin, Tyler, and Madeline Burgess, Ashley and Garrett Lassiter, Alex and Noah Cobb.
She was predeceased by two daughters, Vicki Rae Lassiter and Judy B. Collins, and a brother Ray Lord.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Grace Memorial United Methodist Church with the Revs. Mary Marshall and James M. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30
p.m. at Wright Funeral Home and other times at the home of Tommy and Alice Burgess, 31326 Whistle Stop Drive.
