FRANKLIN—Edna Wellons Vick, 95, a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away September 11, 2011.

She was born in Franklin, a daughter of the late Floyd Wood Wellons Sr. and Pearl Spivey Wellons.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Alton Vick Sr.

Mrs. Vick was a member of Franklin Baptist Church since 1926 and was one of the oldest living members. She was a member of the Faithful Servant Sunday school class and a member of the Franklin Woman’s Club.

Survivors include two daughters, Connie V. Yarbrough (Steve) of Harrells, N.C., and Nita V. Carr (Jimmy) of Windsor, Va.; two sons, J. Alton “Sonny” Vick Jr. (Susan) of Franklin, Va., and Robert W. Vick (Nancy) of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Virginia D. Wellons of Richmond; a brother, Floyd W. Wellons Jr. (Martha) of Franklin; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends this evening (Tuesday) from 7 to 8: 30 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2011, at Franklin Baptist Church with the Rev. Sharon James and Rev. Brent Kimlick officiating.

Interment will follow in Poplar Spring Cemetery.
