WINDSOR—Steven Thomas Whitley, 50, of the 20000 block of Orbit Road, died Nov. 1, 2007, in Sentara Obici Hospital.

Mr. Whitley was a lifelong native of Isle of Wight County, he was the son of the late William M. Whitley.

He had been employed as a warehouseman for Gwaltney Meat Packing in Smithfield. He enjoyed sports, especially the Washington Redskins and the Boston Red Sox.

Survivors include his mother, Louise Pippins Whitley of Windsor; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley W. and Gary Barncord of Columbia, N.C., JoAnne W. Dennis of Windsor, Sue W. and Robert Goerger of Windsor, Darlene Whitley and Larry Winstead, of Suffolk; a brother and sister-in-law, William M. Whitley Jr. and wife Robin of Chesapeake; seven nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held Sunday in Woodland Church Cemetery with the Rev. Robert F. Cofield Jr. officiating.
