To The Editor:

We would like to express our support of Olivia B. Claud for the position of Clerk of Circuit Court for the City of Franklin and Southampton County.

We have known Olivia for a lifetime.

She is the best candidate to deal with people, as she possesses wonderful people skills. Her career has been one of service to citizens of the Commonwealth of Virginia. She is smart, dependable and a born leader.

One example of Olivia’s outstanding dedication is when our area was devastated by the floods during the Floyd and Isabel hurricanes.

She was the first to call Southampton County. Health Department to donate supplies and volunteer for services.

Many times in the past in my career as a registered nurse at the health department, she has contributed anonymously to help our patients who have had special financial needs.

This, again, shows her willingness to give back to her community and to those less fortunate.

Olivia is also very generous in her faithful support of her church and its activities.

There is no question that in her role with the State Corporation Commission, she is a true professional. As a state employee, I have had numerous occasions to refer clients and friends to her.

Her expertise has been invaluable.

She is committed to any job she undertakes and her organizational abilities are exceptional.

The citizens here will be getting the best with Olivia B. Claud as their Clerk of Court.
