FRANKLIN—Two area men are in jail, charged with multiple felonies, following a shooting on South College Drive near Rosewood Avenue Wednesday night.
No one was injured, but bullets from at least one large-caliber handgun hit a vehicle and a house, Franklin Detective Sgt. Kenny Barham said Friday.
Police were called to the scene Wednesday at 10:37 p.m. They made two arrests the following afternoon.
Edward Leonard, 19, of Chestnut Street in Franklin, and Rasheen Malone, 24, of Oak Trail in Courtland, are both being held at Western Tidewater Regional Jail without bond.
Both men face charges that include discharging a firearm from a vehicle, shooting into a vehicle, shooting into an occupied dwelling and two counts each of attempted malicious wounding. Malone also was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
It is the second reported shooting in two weeks. On Oct. 7, an unknown number of people exchanged gunfire with occupants of a Chestnut Street house, wounding at least one man inside the house.
Franklin police
are continuing to investigate that shooting.
