WINDSOR—Shirley Anne Burgess, 68, died Oct. 17, 2007.

Mrs. Burgess was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church and was predeceased by her father, Billy Battle Burgess.

Survivors include her daughter, Shaa Pickett and husband Clay of Surry; her mother, Evie Mae Burgess of Franklin; her grandson, Trevor Benson of Surry;

two sisters, Ira J. Witt and husband

Bill of Franklin and Billie B. Earnest and husband Frank of Virginia Beach; former husband Jimmy Rainey and wife, Rosa, of Conway, N.C.; nephews, Michael T. Weaver of Portsmouth, William B. Bristow of Chesapeake, James D. Bristow of Knoxville, Tenn. and Jeffrey C. Bristow of Virginia Beach.

A graveside funeral will be held at 11 a.m. today in the Burgess Family Cemetery at Checkerboard Corner in Franklin. The family suggests memorials be made to Sycamore Baptist Church.
