Alice D. Williams

GATES, N.C.—Alice Dale Williams, 83, formerly of Boonetown Road and more recently of the Ahoskie House, died Sept. 28, 2007 in Roanoke-Chowan Hospital.
Mrs. Williams was born in Chowan County and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Helen Ward Dale.
A graduate of Sunbury High School, she had retired from the sheet finishing department at Union Camp Corp. and was a member of Middle Swamp Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harrison Williams; her brother, Wilson Dale; and a grandson, George Christopher Williams.
Survivors include two sons, Winston E. Williams and wife Marlene of Eure, N.C. and G.T. Williams and wife Becky of Gates; two sisters, Gladys Williams of Gainesville, Fla., and Margaret Davis of Edenton, N.C.; two grandchildren, Michele Copeland and Gregg Williams; and four great-grandchildren, Devon Lake, Chase Copeland, and Christopher and Noah Williams.
A funeral was held Sunday in Middle Swamp Baptist Church by Pastor Burt Pearce and the Rev. Todd Higginson.
Burial followed in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, N.C., handling arrangements.
