CLAREMONT, Calif.—Eugene Hinton Grizzard Jr., 94, died Sept. 20, 2007.

Born in Boykins in 1913, was the son of the late Eugene Hinton Grizzard Sr. and Edna Gardner Grizzard.

Mr. Grizzard served in World War II as a member of the U.S. Army, and was a retired civil engineer.

Survivors include his wife, Adele M. Grizzard; brother, Victor B. Grizzard and wife Edith of Boykins; three sisters, Frances Forehand, Margaret Wilroy and Edna Lassiter.

A graveside service will be held in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins,at 11 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Raymond Bunn officiating.

Purviance Chapel, J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, Wakefield, is in charge of arrangements.
