FRANKLIN—George Crutchfield died Sept. 22, 2007 in Courtland Health Care Centerin Courtland.

Mr. Crutchfield was born in Southampton County July 27, 1929 to the late Isiah and Lucille Crutchfield.

Survivors include five daughters, Jeannie Hughes and husband Roger Clark, Belinda Crutchfield, Clarice Culbreath and husband Linwood Swanson, all of Washington, D.C.; two sons, George Crutchfield Jr. and Milton Crutchfield of Washington; two stepdaughters, Celestine Eaton of Wasington and Barbara Jean Walker of California; three sisters, Ethel Hill of Franklin, Beatrice C. Rawlings of Richmond and Ella C. Banks of Franklin; one brother, Lewis Crutchfield of Franklin; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; seven nieces and three nephews; great-nieces and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon Saturday in Engram Funeral Home Chapel, Franklin, with the Rev. Alvin Rawlings officiating.

Burial will follow in Care Memorial Gardens, Courtland.
