FRANKLIN-The Franklin Broncos entered their third game of the season at Armory Park Sports Complex riding a 2-0 record, and continued their unblemished early ride.

Franklin dominated King & Queen at home Friday, 42-0.

Ranked fourth in the state for Group A schools, the Broncos were favorites to win over the King & Queen Royal Tigers.

But the Royal Tigers opened the game with an impressive drive, crossing the 50-yard-line and appeared headed for the end zone on that first drive.

But the drive was halted when the Royal Tigers lost a fumble.

Franklin capitalized on it, scoring on its first possession on a 4-yard run by Elliott Bottoms.

The first half was a sloppy exhibition. Both teams fumbled and lost the ball three times. The first half ended with the Broncos going to the locker room with a 13-0 lead.

Franklin Coach Darren Parker stated that in the second half &uot;We turned things around to play our kind of ball.&uot; Taking the second-half kickoff on his 25-yard line, Melquan Mitchell raced and outran the Royal Tigers to score.

James Jervey added the extra point and the Broncos led 20- 0.

In the third quarter the Broncos added two more touchdowns on runs of 21 yards by Bottoms and four yards by Isaiah Hudson.

Putting the icing on the cake was the recovery of a Royal Tiger fumble by Tyreck Davis to put six more points on the board for the Broncos.

Defensively for the Broncos, Malik Brown, Daquan Cleamons and Tyler Childress each had five tackles as the Royal Tigers were held to only 22 net yards in rushing. Isaiah Hudson led the rushing for the Broncos with 13 carries for 97 yards.
