Indians get lead, lose lead

YORK-With Southampton leading 13-7, York reeled off the next 19 points to down the Indians 26-13 in a Bay Rivers District game Friday night.
It was the third week in a row that Southampton led early and went down to defeat.
The Indians (0-3) opened the scoring when Jamod Winborne rushed four yards for a touchdown with 6:18 left in the first quarter. Marcus Inman's kick gave Southampton a 7-0 lead.
York countered in the second quarter as Aaron Edwards hit Chris Lloyd with a 42-yard touchdown pass with 4:49 left in the first quarter. The extra point kick tied the game at 7-7.
The Indians regained the lead when Winborne hit pay dirt again from two yards out with 6:18 left in the first half. Inman's kick failed and the Indians lead stayed at 13-7.
It was all York after that.
Andre Bynum rushed for 58 yards on 10 carries. Winborne covered 58 yards on the ground on 12 carries, and quarterback Sidney Rawls added 47 yards on 13 carries. Rawls was 2-for-10 for 28 yards through the air.
Southampton plays home against Grafton Friday at 7:30 p.m.
