ISLE OF WIGHT—Seven people face drug charges after members of the Isle of Wight Sheriff’s Office and the Virginia State Police conducted drug raids at homes in Camptown and Carrsville Friday night.

According to Sgt. M.R. Kitchen of the Isle of Wight Sheriff’s Office, officers armed with search warrants descended upon 33400 Lee’s Mill Road, 33382 Lee’s Mill Road, 415 Washington Ave. and 6124 Old Carrsville Road during a three-hour period Friday.

The raids closed out a six-week undercover operation in the Camptown area that began with several complaints of suspected drug activity in the area, Kitchen said. Deputies closely monitored the area in response to citizens’ concerns, he added.

&uot;There area a lot of good people in Camptown who were tired of seeing this type of activity in their community,&uot; Kitchen said. &uot;If it starts up again, we’ll be back.&uot;

Arrested in the raids were the following:

* Clifton Ray &uot;Buddy&uot; Robinson, 54, of the 33000 block of Lee’s Mill Road, Franklin, who was charged with two counts of distributing cocaine and possession of cocaine. He was jailed on a $52,500 bond.

Ronald M. &uot;Cake&uot; Vaden Sr., 53, of the 33000 block of Lee’s Mill Road, Franklin, who was charged with two counts of distribution of cocaine. He was jailed with no bond.

* Eddie Wallace &uot;95&uot; Collins, 57, of the 400 block of Washington Avenue in Camptown, who was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, second or subsequent offense. He was placed in Western Tidewater Regional Jail without bond.

* Patricia Lee Davis, 38, of the 600 block of Cameron Street, Franklin, who was charged with possession of marijuana. She was released pending a Sept. 27 court date.

* Curtis Green Jr., 52, of Richmond, who was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear in court after he was found in Vaden’s residence. He was jailed without bond.

* Eric Dewayne &uot;E.T.&uot; Smith, 25, of the 300 block of Washington Street, Franklin, who was charged with distributing cocaine. He was remanded to Western Tidewater Regional Jail.

* Bobby Boone, 65, of the 6100 block of Old Carrsville Highway, Carrsville, who was charged with four counts of distributing cocaine and with possession of cocaine, second or subsequent offense. He was jailed without bond.
