What’s the best part of your day? Going for a walk after dinner with my husband
If you could select another profession, what would you do? Probably teach. I have always enjoyed working with children.
Why do you choose to live in Franklin/Southampton/Isle of Wight County? I was born in Isle of Wight County and have stayed because I like the area.
If you had two weeks’ vacation and money were no object, how would you spend your time? I would spend it in the Bahamas. I love the beach and warm weather. I would, however, want my husband and daughter to share it with me.
Favorite food: Steak and baked potato
Favorite weekend destination: After working all week, I enjoy just hanging out around home on the weekends.
Favorite college sports team: I’m not really into college sports. But now that my daughter is attending James Madison University. I guess it’ll have to be their football team.
Favorite pro sports team: Dallas Cowboys and New York Yankees
Favorite color: Any shade of blue
What’s the best life lesson you’ve learned, and who taught you? My parents taught me that you have to work for things that you want. Nothing is just given to you.
Favorite Bible verse: Isaiah 60:1. I learned this in GA’s and have always remembered it.
What’s the best decision you’ve made in life? To have a child
Which local charitable or non-profit organization do you wish more people would support? Relay for Life
Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know. I don’t think there’s anything about me that people don’t know.
What’s your hobby? Gardening
If you could re-live one day of your life, which would it be and why? My wedding day. I wouldn’t change anything but would love to experience that joy again.
What gives you the blues? Being alone at bed time.
What’s the most Southern thing you’ve ever done? Helped with killing chickens
What’s your best childhood memory? Playing hide-and-seek after dark with my siblings and the neighbors up the road

If you could live anywhere else in the world, where would it be and why? I would probably stay where I am because I like it here.

What kind of music do you like, and who’s your favorite performer? I like country music. My favorite performer is Kenny Chesney.
Tell us about a good movie you’ve seen lately and why you liked it? I really don’t get to see many movies.
Who’s a famous athlete or entertainer you admire? I don’t really admire any athlete or entertainer. Just when you think you can admire someone, they do something stupid and let you down.
