CHESAPEAKE—Dora L. &uot;Donut&uot; Foreman, 85, of the 200 block of Luray Street, died Aug. 4, 2007, in Chesapeake General Hospital.

Born in Norfolk County (Chesapeake), she was the daughter of the late Ethel L. Brown and Wilson H. Shepperd. She was employed by the Chesapeake public school system and General Electric and retired after 20 years of service.

Mrs. Dora, as she was affectionately called, lived a long and faithful life in service to the Lord. She was a lifelong member of Rehoboth AME Church in Chesapeake and served as church secretary, church clerk, steward and stewardess board president, Sunday school superintendent and president of the Mason-Wright Missionary Society of Rehoboth.

She served diligently until her health prevented her from fulfilling the work that she loved to render for her church. She was also a member of the Silver Strands Senior Club.

She was predeceased by her husband, William R. Foreman Sr. and her first grandchild, Juanita Seward.

Survivors include her four daughters, Emma Rodgers (Herbert) of Norfolk, Elizabeth Seward of Baltimore, Md., Magdaline Griffin (Calvin) and Debra Coleman of Chesapeake; five sons, Michael Foreman (Phyllis) and William R. Foreman II (Brenda) of Chesapeake, Joseph Foreman (Lola) of Columbus, Ga., Theron Foreman (Marilyn) of Suffolk and Gary Foreman of Franklin; 27 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and many other beloved family and friends.

The celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Rehoboth AME Church, 405 Shell Road, Chesapeake, with the Rev. Joseph E. Thompson officiating. Her son, the Rev. Michael Foreman, will give the eulogy. The Rev. Willie P. Booth III is the pastor.

Interment will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Visitation and viewing will be Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. with a wake from 7 to 8 p.m. Family and friends may assemble at the residence at 10 a.m. Saturday for the procession to the church.

Steele-Bullock Funeral Home is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church.
