DENDRON—Louis Elwood “Lou” Conary, 66, died July 17, 2007, at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News.

His family was by his side.

Born in Maryland he was the son of the late Vincent D. Conary and Wilma Burkhart Conary.

Mr. Conary was predeceased by his wife, Robin Jacqueline Mae Shockley Conary.

He served his country in the U. S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

He was self-employed in electronics prior to his retirement.

Survivors include two sons, Elwood H. Conary and wife Angela of Courtland and William W. Conary and wife Cindi of Dendron; grandchildren, Ben, Stephen, Angie; great-grandchild, Chloe Belle; and 13 brothers and sisters.

A memorial service to honor his memory will be held in the Waverly Baptist Church, Waverly, on Saturday at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Keith Whitfield officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the family to assist with the cost of funeral arrangements.

The Purviance Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Wakefield, assisted the family with arrangements.
