COURTLAND—Marilyn Hall Vick, 73, died July 17, 2007.

She was born in Sampson County, NC, a daughter of the late James Howard Hall, Sr. and Emma Jones Hall Kenney.

Mrs. Vick was a retired eligibility specialist with Halifax County Social Services and was a member of Courtland Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher, and the Harrellsville Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include her husband of 18 years, Clifton Leon Vick; three sons, Dennis McCoy Powell and wife, Dee, David Charles Powell and wife, Cheryl, all of Powellsville, N.C. and C. Greg Vick and wife, Sandra, of Courtland; a sister, Carolyn Hall Hockaday and husband, Wade S., of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; a brother, James Howard Hall Jr. of Ahoskie,

N.C.; four grandchildren, Wayne Powell and wife, Shannon, Brandon Powell, Heather Powell and Andrew Vick; a great grandchild, Kole Kent Powell;

several nieces and nephews and her special dog, “Sam I Am”.

She was predeceased by a brother, Charles M. Hall.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Courtland Baptist Church with the Revs. Thomas Speight and Kenneth Williams officiating.

Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery with the Courtland and Powellsville Volunteer Fire Departments serving as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30
