COURTLAND—The Southampton Academy volleyball team swept two matches to improve to a 7-3 on the season.

SA defeated Amelia Academy 25-20, 25-17 and 25-21 on Sept. 29. The Lady Raiders defeated the Lady Knights of Blessed Sacrament Huguenot Tuesday 25-11, 25-15 and 25-8.

“The girls played well together,” said SA Coach Sarah Nixon. “We have been playing in a lot of close matches so a couple of 3-0 wins were nice. This is the second time around in the conference and we hope to win out.”

In Tuesday’s win, senior Beth Waller had nine aces and 20 assistants. Senior Brigitte Bradshaw had eight kills.

SA travels to Brunswick Academy Thursday for a 6 p.m. match.
