If you could select any profession, what would you do? I’d be a Marine.

Why do you choose to live in Franklin/Southampton/Isle of Wight County? I still live with my parents, and we like it because it’s small and a great place to grow up.

If you had two weeks’ vacation and money were no object, how would you spend your time? Lying on the beach

Favorite food: Fruit

Favorite weekend destination: The mall or the coffee shop

Favorite pro sports team: I do like baseball, so I would say the Atlanta Braves. I grew up with that.

Favorite color: I have a different favorite color every time somebody asks, so I’ll say red this time.

What’s the best life lesson you’ve learned, and who taught you? It’s not my position to judge somebody. Well, that’s what the Good Book says, plus I had to learn that from my own mistakes.

Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know: I’m not really afraid of anything, and I love a good challenge.

your hobby: Singing, drawing, painting — anything artistic

If you could re-live one day of your life, which would it be and why? The day I was born — so I could actually remember exactly what was going through my head at that time.

What gives you the blues? Saying goodbye

the most Southern thing you’ve ever done: Hunting for crawdaddies in my friend’s back yard. We did find two.

your best childhood memory: Playing Barbies with my big sister and going for adventures with my big brother in the woods behind our house.

Tell us one true thing: Life is too short to sit around and do nothing.

What frightens you most? Not having anything to do.

If you could live anywhere else in the world, where would it be and why? Spain, so that maybe I could pick up a new language.

What last brought tears to your eyes? One of my teachers crying when I told her that I enlisted

to dinner, who would they be? Marilyn Monroe, Elvis and Picasso

What three objects would you take with you to a desert island? A bottle of water that never ran dry, a cell phone, and the guys from the Verizon commercial so that my cell phone would actually work.

What kind of music do you like, and who’s your favorite performer? I like rock, opera, country, pop, oldies, jazz, blues — everything. I would have to say Cyndi Lauper because she has put on some crazy shows, and even though she is like 50 years old now, she still performs like she is 25. Now that’s passion, right there.

Tell us about a good movie you’ve seen lately and why you liked it. “The Pursuit of Happyness.” This guy had a lot of will power. He did everything he could to give his son a good life. He never gave up, even when he had to sleep in a homeless shelter. I love to witness people with will power, and what made the movie even better was that it was based on a true story.

Who’s a famous athlete or entertainer you admire? Alanis Morissette, because she is downright tough but down-to-earth at the same time.

To whom are you grateful and why? My family. They always support me no matter what.
