Windsor beats Charles City 36-20

CHARLES CITY—Windsor defeated host Charles City 36-20 during its Tri-Rivers District opener on Friday.

The Dukes are 5-2 overall and 1-0 in the district.

Windsor’s R.J. Edwards opened scoring in the first quarter on a two-yard run with Oris Bower picking up the two-point conversion.

Charles City responded with a second-quarter touchdown on a 17-yard pass and tied up the game 8-8 after getting the two-point conversion.

Windsor led 16-8 at halftime after Bowers scored on a 2-yard run. Edwards picked up the two points.

Charles City opened second-half scoring on a 13-yard run; the conversion failed.

Edwards followed in the third quarter, scoring on a 17-yard run, making the game 22-14.

Windsor scored two more touchdowns to Charles City’s one for the win.
