Betty T. Marks

Courtland – Betty Turner Marks, 74, passed away June 25, 2010 at her residence in Sebrell. She was born in Capron, the daughter of the late Gilbert William and Carrie Marks Turner and was predeceased by her former husband, James F. “Jimmy” Marks, her brother, Marks Turner, and her son-in-law, Bob Brady. Mrs. Marks was retired after 45 years service as office nurse for the late Dr. Frank Daughtrey, Jr. in Courtland. She was a member of Capron Baptist Church and attended Sebrell United Methodist Church.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Phyllis M. Barham and husband, Tommy, of Capron and Wanda M. Brady of Brooklet, GA.; two sons, Dwayne Marks and wife, Nancy of Sebrell and Neal Marks and wife, Kim, of Courtland; one sister, Kathleen T. Maitland of Colonial Heights; two special nephews, Charles Nixon and wife, Barbara and Tim Nixon and wife, Kim, all of Sebrell; thirteen grandchildren, Chris Barham and wife, Stacey, Brooke Barham and fiancée, Billy Jenkins, Allison Middleton and husband, Alex, Kyle and Andy Harville, Kelly, Brian, and Melanie Marks, Carly Williams, Jordan and Mariah Marks, Sarah and Matt Nixon; and four great-grandchildren, Abigail “Abby” Middleton, Alexis Harville, Will Barham, and Case Gunnells.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 am Monday, June 28, 2010 at the Capron Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Renfrow officiating. Memorials may be made to any favorite charity. Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, is assisting the family. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
