Lillian Jones Wells
Lillian Jones Wells, 74, of Ivor passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 16, 2010.
Lillian was a member of Mill Swamp Baptist Church and loved cooking and gardening.
She retired from General Electric in Suffolk and served as a home nurse caretaker for 26 years.
Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, Ruben and Martha Drewry Jones; husband, Christopher Columbus Mills Wells; and sister, Doris Overdorff.
Lillian is survived by her daughters Martha Ann Munford and her husband, Thurman of Zuni, Alice Lee Goodrich and her husband, Ronnie, of Wakefield, Doris Rosa Wells of Zuni, and Nonie Luvell Kitchen and Florence Jean Edwards, both of Ivor; grandchildren Stephanie Rena Ricks, Thomas William Jones, Thurman Dwight Munford Jr., Ronnie Albert Goodrich Jr., Krystle Luvell Kitchen, Jonathan F. Harrup and Christopher Eric Owney; great-grandchildren Thomas William Jones Jr., Trenton Whit Jones and Hailey Harrup; and a sister, Bernice Jackson of Newport News.
The family will receive friends 7:to 8:30 p.m. Friday, June 18, at Mill Swamp Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 19, at the church with the Revs. Jim Jones and Billy Gardner officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
