Sidney F. Faulker Jr.
FRANKLIN—Sidney Franklin Faulkner Jr., 78, supported by his loving family and friends, departed this life peacefully June 7, 2010, at Southampton Memorial Hospital in Franklin.
Born in Franklin County, N.C., to Lelia Hale and Sidney Franklin Faulkner, Sidney was a former resident of Henderson, N.C.
He was retired as an auditor for the retail clothing industry.
Sidney was a member and former deacon of Mountain Grove Baptist Church, Alert, N.C.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carolyn Burnette Lane Faulkner of Franklin; step-sons Benjamin “Tony” Lane (April) and Robert “Bob” Lane (Pat) and step-grandchildren, Katie Lane and Ben Lane, all of Franklin; sister Lavenia Robertson of Stratford, Conn.; and many nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Cal Davis of Oxford, North Carolina.
Sidney was preceded in death by his first wife, Faylene Faulkner, brothers David Lee Faulkner and Charlie Faulkner, and sister Pat Faulkner.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Lancaster Memorial Park Funerals and Cremations Chapel, Louisburg, North Carolina, with Rev. Bill Wallace officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service and suggests memorials be made to Mountain Grove Baptist Church, c/o Susan Hale, 939 Alert Road, Warrenton, North Carolina 27589.
